Authorities in Nashville are asking the public for help locating Conor Anderson, a 31-year-old man from Colorado, who has been reported missing after traveling to Tennessee for a work conference.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said Anderson arrived in Nashville on Saturday, August 15, for the conference and checked into the Millennium Maxwell House hotel. He was later seen in East Nashville early Sunday morning, August 16, and has not been located since.
According to police, Anderson was last seen in the Woodland Street and Main Street area of East Nashville. Around 1 a.m. Sunday, he approached two East Precinct officers and told them about an encounter he had experienced near a local bar.
Anderson reportedly told the officers that he had given two unknown men $20 to show him around the area. Instead, he said, the men walked away with his money. Police spoke with Anderson about the incident, but he reportedly did not want to provide his driver’s license to make a formal report.
The officers then encouraged Anderson to use a rideshare service to return to his hotel. According to the police account, Anderson agreed to do so. His subsequent whereabouts remain unknown.
The circumstances surrounding his disappearance have prompted investigators to examine a number of potential leads. Detectives with the Nashville Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit are reviewing available surveillance footage and checking Anderson’s phone and bank records as they attempt to establish what happened after his encounter with officers.
Police have not publicly stated that Anderson’s disappearance is the result of foul play, and there has been no official indication that he has been injured. Investigators are continuing to establish his movements after the early-morning encounter and determine whether he reached his hotel or traveled to another location.
The fact that Anderson was visiting Nashville from Colorado for a work conference has added urgency to the search. He was unfamiliar with the area and was staying at a hotel while attending the business event. His last known location was several miles from the hotel, according to reports.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is urging anyone who may have seen Anderson or who has information about his whereabouts to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in information that could help establish where he went after leaving the Woodland and Main Street area.
Anyone with information about Conor Anderson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Metro Nashville Police Department at 615-862-8600.
As the investigation continues, authorities are reviewing surveillance, financial activity and other available information in an effort to reconstruct Anderson’s movements. His family, colleagues and friends are awaiting answers as detectives work to determine where the Colorado man went after he was last seen early Sunday morning in East Nashville.
